WWF Wildlive – Bird
Most Finnish birds migrate to the south for the winter, but some stay and endure the freezing temperatures. We took our camera to the Lammi Biological Station to film the winter feeding of birds.
The bird feeding site at the Lammi Biological Station of the University of Helsinki is located at the boundary between two forest types: a hazel grove and a mature coniferous forest. In addition to hazel bushes, the grove features small-leaved linden and large aspens. The camera is expected to capture both familiar feeder visitors and species typical of mature forests — and with a bit of luck, even owls.
