Competition for Green Offices – award for the most innovative energy efficiency solution
Green Offices have until the end of January to save their energy efficiency projects on the Energy Leap website. In February, the LIFE EconomisE team will choose the most innovative project.
WWF’s LIFE EconomisE project coordinator Kata Kreft-Burman presented a competitive challenge to Green Offices at the Energy Leap in the Office network meeting. Kreft-Burman challenged Green Offices to share their energy efficiency projects on the Energy Leap website.

“We need examples of successful energy efficiency projects to inspire others and to get closer to the Paris agreement and the EU buildings emissions targets. The energy efficiency projects that Green Offices share on the Energy Leap website are available for all, and we hope they will inspire new initiatives,” Kreft-Burman says.
Green Offices can save their energy efficiency projects on the Energy Leap website until 31 January 2019. In the beginning of February, WWF’s LIFE EconomisE team will go over the examples and decide on the winner, who will be given a diploma. In addition, there will be an article on the winner, which will be published on WWF’s Green Office and LIFE EconomisE websites, as well as on social media.
Green Offices can add their energy efficiency projects on the Energy Leap website also after the competition. The aim of the website is to encourage everyone in Finland – companies and individuals alike – to take up cleaner, more energy efficient methods of heating, transportation, and producing goods and services, which save natural resources.
WWF Green Office guides workplaces to function sustainably and helps them build an efficient environmental management system. Green Office helps offices reduce their ecological footprint, use natural resources wisely and protect biodiversity. Energy efficiency is naturally a crucial part of the Green Office system.
“The impact of Green Office comes from the measures that are implemented, and Energy Leap is a great way to tell others about them. The biggest environmental effects of offices tend to relate to buildings and their energy consumption. We therefore offer tools with which our clients can encourage building owners to carry out energy efficiency measures or implement such measures themselves”, says Aniina Virta-Toikka, Green Office Project Manager.
“In the Green Office network we try to share good energy efficiency measures, and this is a great chance to share them more widely. By saving your own projects on the Energy Leap website, you can share good practices with others and at the same time get positive attention in terms of responsibility.”
